Introducing the “Dirty Slappers” P-Bass pickup set, wound with period correct ’60s wire.  I wind these pickups on a grey bottom late ’60s style bobbin with alnico 5 magnets.  The wind is classic mid to late ’60s 42 AWG Plain enamel wire slightly overwound to 11.5k.  These pickups have punchy yet crystal cleans with a nice bass low end growl and clear high ends.

My “Dirty Slappers” have been described by one Brisbane guitar tech as the best vintage reproduction pickups he has heard!

I put a set of Dave’s Dirty Slappers into a P’bass I was lucky enough to get built – and have been so impressed with the sound and tone of these babies ever since. Along with the P bass tone – I found that I get a bit more of the upper mids that really helps the bass cut through in a two guitar band like the one I play in – they sound great with finger-style and pic and I would highly recommend them – in my opinion better than anything you will get overseas. Dave’s knowledge and service are also second to none – what are you waiting for – get in contact…

My Fender 35th anniversary ’57 USA Reissue P-Bass wasn’t doing what it should and I spoke to Dave about the pickups. They were shot, nada, gone, zip – no wonder they sounded like s…! Dave recommended I try the Dirty Slappers and I couldn’t be happier. My P-Bass sounds better than ever before. These pickups have a bass low end growl but are great on the attack and whether I am picking or fingering the Dirty Slappers respond with every thing I throw at them. Dial in a nice high tone and you are in pop/slap heaven. Extremely responsive with no lag. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough. My guitarist doesn’t like me playing my other basses and prefers to hear the Dirty Slappers. My drummer is the same, he says they remind him of that vintage bass sound from the 60s and 70s. Homegrown by one of our very own legends – Dave Leddin. A+++++
