My “Vintage ’60s” P-90 soap bars are based on the classic ’60s Gibson winds. I wind my pickups with vintage correct 42 AWG Plain enamel wire and use low gauss alnico 5 magnets. These pickups have a big deep fat bottom end and a nice clear defined top end. These pickups break up nice with drive with a big fat tone and have a sharp attack with a heavy pick stroke. They are suitable for all genres of music from jazz to punk and will not disappoint. I use a shielded Gibson style braided lead as standard. I wind my bridge units anticlockwise north up polarity in line with Gibson and Epiphone pickups. I wind the neck in reverse for hum cancelling with the bridge.

Just finished a guitar with pair of Dave’s P90’s…I have used most of the well known ones over the years but none of them come even close to these…simply superb range…super clear with zero noice…growl nicely when pushed…

Dave’s Vintage 60s soap bar P-90s have an authentic 60s aura about them. Solid, clear but with a hint of graininess. They break up a bit when pushed and really handles gain/overdrive pedals like the TS or BD. Dave was kind enough to remove the PCB pots harness and replace with handwired US components for me in my 2014 Melody Maker. For anyone interested I’ve posted a YouTube video of me playing through an old 1970 Super Reverb https://youtu.be/X-iH88NQoz8
Very happy with these P-90s thanks Dave.

Dave is awesome to deal with and well worth the wait. His P90s where the exact tone I was chasing and sound amazing. I play these through a fender blues jr and a Marshall JTM and Only problem is I haven’t been able to put my guitar down since I have installed them…….extremely bluesy and rock all in one….. thanks very much Dave
