Description
A partially complete 1983 Fender JV ST65-62 Strat with a 3 piece alder body and original sunburst poly finish. The ST65 is lowest end model of the Fender logo JV Strats and it has the C stamp in the neck pocket. I acquired in Japan as a stripped body and have added a bunch of original JV parts. The sore point is the rough 4.25mm deep routing for some odd shaped bridge that needs to be filled in, see pics. A competent luthier should be able to fill it in and it will look okay, don’t let this body near a hack though it’s been through enough! The rest of it is in good condition and the poly finish is in good condition with typical wear, this is good body to build a JV project on. There are some pics showing the routing still let exposed around the bridge and pickguard. The pickguard is an original but there has been some filing on the edge (trem bar side) that needs cleaning up, see pics. I have put in a set of 1983 JV pots with a .1uf original green cap and an original DM-50 switch that need the wires connected and some added. The pots turn well but have not been tested for clarity but the switch has been pin tested and works well, the red jumper on the switch is missing. The knobs look original JV and are either very clean or possibly newer but they look right for this model, switch tip is an original JV. The pickguard and jack screws are Fender Japan and look right for JV. The jack and jack cup are original JV but there are no jack wires and it needs the throat cleaned. The bridge is an original but there is no trem bar and the threads were loose when I tested them. The Strap buttons are Fender Japan reissues but look the part. There is no neckplate or any other hardware included
