1950s – 1960s Guyatone Archtop pickguard with pickup

$119.95

Description

A funky little Guyatone pickguard with single low profile pickup and controls,  this style is also found on Kiso Suzukis.  It has been well loved with wear, patina and rub marks from cleaning across the chrome pickup.  I replaced the pickup lead with some vintage period correct wire and I have flushed the pots and they work with no crackle.  The pickup is a floating coil around a ceramic magnet similar to some Framus and Jansen pickups.  It has a 3.5mm mono jack with a 500k audio volume and a 100k linear tone,  not sure on the cap value or the resistor.  Great for a Guyatone resto but I would recommend running a lead into the guitar rather than rely on the thin 1 ply pickguard to hold up.  The pickup reads about 6.6k and is 9mm tall and 75mm wide across the cover.  The guard is a 1 ply and is approx 250mm long and 105mm wide,  it is in good condition but does have a thin hairline crack running off the rivet holding the pickup on.  There are no mounting screws.
