NOT FOR SALE – Repair example
I had the rare chance to rewind the bridge pickup on this rare Lefty 1979 Fender USA Jazz Bass. I did a great job on the pickup but a terrible job photographing the guitar itself so please forgive me. Once again lacquer was the killer here and Fender stopped it for a reason. Lacquer dries up hard and over time the pickup will flex and expand and contract and the lacquer doesn’t. The lacquer cracks and takes the windings with it. I rewound this pickup to 8.46k with period correct 42 AWG Plain enamel wire and nailed it!
